Black History Month - Lancaster's Slavery Business

Alongside the Transatlantic Slave Trade, many Lancaster people were heavily involved in slavery through their trade in West-Indian goods and in some cases ownership of plantations. Merchants became powerful and wealthy through trading in rum, sugar, wood and other goods produced by enslaved labour. Expert historian Melinda Elder reveals Lancaster's many links to the 'slavery business'. Part of Black History Month.
